About the Disaster Management Community

It is a group of professionals from a wide range of organizations and disciplines concerned with preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery and rehabilitation issues with respect to disasters (natural and human induced).

Disasters erode development gains. In order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), it is important to ensure reduction of disaster risk through structural and nonstructural measures.

The Community aims to reduce disaster risk to sustain development gains. This is done by leveraging the knowledge, experience and energies of development practitioners towards problem solving

Solution Exchange connects the members of this Community and increases the effectiveness of their individual efforts by helping them share and apply each other’s knowledge and experience.  Through Solution Exchange, Disaster Management professionals can turn to their peers across India for solutions to the day-to-day challenges they face.

Disaster Management Community Partnerships

Community Partnerships, besides Sponsors or Host organisations, the system provides for partnership constructs, each construct must have (a) Partnership type, (b) Organisation that is partnered with, and (c) Output. Create relevant RR if needed before linking to them.
