Work and Employment Community |

The Work and Employment Community works to reduce poverty through promoting gainful, high-quality work and employment opportunities and helping to develop and implement policy to support the attainment of Government of India’s poverty reduction targets. Solution Exchange connects members of this Community and increases the effectiveness of their individual efforts, helping them share and apply each other’s knowledge and experience. Through Solution Exchange, colleagues can turn to their peers across India for solutions to the day-to-day challenges they face.
What are some of the issues covered by this Community? · Employment generation- capacity building, implementation, monitoring and asset building · Sustainable livelihoods- institutional models and approaches to promote sustainable livelihoods for the poor and marginalized · Entrepreneurship development- support through marketing and financial linkages, and business development services · Skill development through vocational education and technical training for the unorganized section and women · Conditions of work- improved work conditions for unorganized workers and workplace policies for HIV · Social protection- provision of social security to unorganized sector workers · Organizing workers in the unorganized sector
