The Disaster Management Community is comprised of:

• A Community "Facilitator"- UNDP plays the role of Community Convener
• A "Resource Team" - the Resource Person and Community Moderator, supported by a Research Associate, who manage the Community interactions, organize the production of Consolidated Replies and other knowledge products, and support Community activities, both over the electronic network and in organizing face-to-face events
• A "Resource Group" representing key organizations and agencies working on disaster management in India, whose role is to establish the Community’s priorities, provides the Community with guidance, direction and support, commission collaborative work ("Action Groups") to tackle key challenges, and to evaluate performance and impact.

Resource Person: G Padmanabhan
Handling Disaster Management portfolio of UNDP-India since 1995, he leads the Team involved in implementing the GOI-UNDP Disaster Risk Management Programme in the India. He worked for a year in Northern Iraq as a senior manager of a large Electricity Network Rehabilitation Project by UNDP.

Research Associate: Nupur Arora
Nupur has experience of designing and implementing projects in Disaster Mitigation and Preparedness with special focus on School Safety Initiatives across India. She was also involved in relief and response during the 2004 tsunami.
