An action group set up by the Gender Community to help implement the Vishakha Judgment guidelines…

The issue of the Supreme Court’s Vishakha Judgment guidelines and the Sexual Harassment Bill was taken up during the Gender Community’s Visioning Workshop in November 2006, during one of the break away sessions. An action plan emerged during the process, designed to help improve implementation of the guidelines by private sector organizations, government and civil society.

As follow up, an e-discussion was held, where members had an opportunity to discuss the proposed Bill and their comments were sent to the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Then the NGO PRIA took up the task of implementing the Guidelines in the NGO sector, while the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) agreed to work with companies.
