Globalization is a concept that involves a network of organizations, the government and individuals working collaboratively. The concept was discussed at the ICTD Community’s Visioning Workshop in December 2007 and different stakeholders came forward with their ideas on how to take the concept forward. A query on how to take it forward involving different agencies, including the National Knowledge Commission, was posted and with the help of IL&FS, Solution Exchange will organize a workshop in Maharashtra to train members from 35 panchayats.

Similarly, a member of the community has come forward to champion efforts to take the concept forward in Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, Digital Empowerment Foundation, in collaboration with other organization is working set up two Local Area Portals based on education and water in early 2008.
