ICTD Community discussion leads to the creation of an exhaustive directory of mailing lists from South Asia that will serve as a platform for exchanging practical solutions…

Since mailing lists are not well categorized or listed, and scattered across diverse servers, they are hard to track. Highlighting their effectiveness for knowledge sharing and building communities, a member posted a query asking for useful South Asian mailing lists, especially those with a focus on India, to develop an online directory. Members shared mailing lists from across South Asia- email lists, on-line groups, forums and networks.

The discussion noted that most of the lists are very vibrant, well moderated and archived, and often act as advocacy and pressure groups/platforms for discussing contemporary professional issues, and exchanging practical solutions. Based on the responses from members, the query poser developed and hosted an exhaustive Directory of Mailing Lists in India.
