Microfinance Community presents “Outstanding Use” award to member requesting inputs on national mapping exercise looking at microfinance delivery models. The Solution Exchange ‘outstanding use’ award is given to the member/institution that has made the best use of the discussions and Consolidated Replies. This could be in the design of new projects, introducing innovations in existing projects, updating draft policies at the institutional, donor, or government (state or national) level, and other similar activities. In October 2007, the Microfinance Community presented the Outstanding Use to Amit Bajpai from the Centre for Microfinance (CMF) in Chennai recognizing the best use of a discussion and/or Consolidated Reply by a member. Mr. Bajpai was one of the query posers for the MFI mapping exercise query, which was jointly posed by CMF and the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) seeking inputs on their mapping exercise looking at the two most common models of microfinance delivery in India today: the SHG Bank Linkage Programme (SBLP) and the Microfinance Institution (MFI) model. The query was posted in October 2006. During 2007, CMF incorporated the discussion points into their mapping exercise along with updating it with 2006 data. The final map was made available on CMF’s website in 2007.
