The Disaster Management Community refers participants for the UNTRS and National Disaster Management Authority national level workshop on social equity during disasters…

The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office and the United Nations Team for Recovery Support (UNTRS), in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority organized a workshop on social equity during disasters in 29-30 June 2007. Members of the Solution Exchange Disaster Management Community provided references of development practitioners and organizations who could be invited to the workshop and suggested specific issues within the gamut of social equity that need to be addressed at the workshop.

Many members of the Community participated in the workshop, along with key actors involved in disaster mitigation and relief work in Orissa, Gujarat, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Kashmir.
