Consolidated Reply from Water and Decentralization Communities used to prepare a State of the Environment report for District Planning process.

District planning involves an assessment of the state of environment that can be prepared using different models, with their own selection criteria and information needs. Lokendra Thakkar and Lalit Bhandari, from EPCO and ERM, Bhopal, posted a query on the Water and Decentralization Community.

The Consolidated Reply provided a range of models used in the preparation of State of Environment (SoE) reports in the district planning process, and offers selection criteria and plan information needs. The Reply is now being used as a reference for a DFID project that aims at mainstreaming environmental concerns through SoE reports, as it provides a ready reference of responses, with resource linkages. A copy of the SoE will be posted on the network once the project is completed, with permission from DFID. It was also used by the project teams.
