Dear Friends
The time has come to say good bye to 2006, and on behalf of the three facilitating agencies UNICEF, UNFPA & WHO I would like to thank all of you for making this a productive and eventful year.
This year we have seen a number of issues raised by you, like offering MTP services, arranging referral transport, developing communication strategy for Safe Motherhood, infant and young child feeding, nutritional status of adolescent girls, integrating AIDS services into regular health programmes and many more. We have also seen two very interesting e-discussions on ‘Community empowerment for utilising health services’ and ‘Posting and transfer issues of rural health staffs’; and reviewed two important policies like Health & Population policy of Chhattisgarh and Gender Round Table Recommendations from the Delhi Commission for Women. This year we have issued 27 Consolidated Replies, two e-discussion summaries and six community updates; you can find all of them in our knowledge repository.
We have seen many instances of people using our Knowledge Products in their day to day work and policy preparation, and many voices have been heard at different levels. The variety of topics and range of discussion from such a diverse group has enlightened us immensely. This would not have been possible without your active and enthusiastic participation, and we are really grateful to you all, for that.
We are
looking forward to 2007, where our MCH Community will keep up the good
work and make a difference to the implementation of MCH programmes in
the country. We are also looking forward to meeting many of you in our
second annual meeting in Sewagram,
We wish you a very happy holiday season and prosperous New Year.
