From the Resource team

Dear Friends,

What a way to start the year! Our third e-Discussion well underway, interesting queries on Motivation, Quality of Care and Supplementary Nutrition; and a tremendous response to the invitation to the 2nd Annual Forum – Sevagram 2007. This promises to be a great year. Let’s make it a wonderful success.

Please visit the Annual Forum web page from time to time to get updates, news and workshop presentations. We are building this corner for those who are coming and those who can’t make it to Sevagram this time.

As we have mentioned earlier, practitioners from other countries have shown substantial interest in Solution Exchange. Recently we organised an international conference in Delhi, where participants from various countries came to explore the possibilities of creating cross border communities.

It is also the time to bid farewell to our National Coordinator Monica Raina, who in her short stint at Solution Exchange has left an enormous impact. We wish her all the success in her future endeavour.

The search for her replacement is still on, so if you know some one who can be our new leader, please let us know. The application process is open till next week. Click here to view the TOR.

So…. See you all in Sevagram…

Best Wishes,

Meghendra Banerjee & Deeksha Sharma

I have been going through the discussion on the issue of improving motivation level of district health officials, district hospital staff and others. Nice to know that such a critical issue is being discussed in this forum.

Abraham George, CARE India, Jaipur

I find the discussions very thought provoking and the consolidated reports are damn good and very useful.

Bulbul Sood, CEDPA, New Delhi

As a member of this health group. I would suggest you to look into FAO's initiatives like e-education on similar lines of 'rural finance' learning centre (links http://www.ruralfinance.org/) so that all concerned especially the poor rural people  can learn  about the government initiatives to provide a social protection net for a minimal health coverage. I, on my part, as e-tutor, can render my assistance in educating all our members and people about the domain expertise of 'microhealth insurance' benefits available for the poor.

Gurusamy Gandhi, National Insurance Academy, Pune

New Year Greetings!

Wish for all the best in the New Year, as well as another successful year for the Solution Exchange.

Suneeta Mittal, AIIMS, New Delhi

Happy new year!

My sincerest wish is that this new year holds its bounty of joys,

Happiness and successes for you and your family. Wishing you a very happy new year and my best wishes to you all.

Let us make use this opportunity to work on one resolution that we have solemnized each year but never fulfilled...embark upon one road of journey that we have always seen but never undertaken...fulfil a dream that we always dreamt but never brought to reality...smell a rose that we have always appreciated but never bent close to for the fear of thorns...visit a place we always wanted to go but never managed to...convey our love to someone we have always loved but never said so...wipe away the tears of someone we always cared about but never did anything to ease the pains...and appreciate the fact that this is a wonderful world we live in and a fascinating life that we have!

As the new year blossoms, may the journey of your life be fragrant with new opportunities, your days be bright with new hopes and your heart be happy with love!

Happy New Year!

Sonali Patnaik, Arupa Mission Research Foundation, Bhubaneswar
