Dear Friends,
Greetings!
Time for the April update. The idea of observing Safe Motherhood Month has received a tremendous response from you. This month has been really busy and we have discussed many issues - ranging from Designing Birth Planning Calendar to Operationalising FRU – fetching many points of view. We still have some queries left, and once we are done, we will collate all the related discussions in MCH community in a page for you to have a look at. We are also hoping, technology permitting, that we will convert this into a full fledged archive of materials, categorized according to different segments of MCH care.
A special
mention for SEWA Rural who received the prestigious
MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions: 2007 on 29
March in
Looking forward to exciting exchanges this month as well.
Best Wishes,
Meghendra Banerjee & Resource Team, Solution Exchange

Very good and excellent way of presenting the issue that I want to raise Thanks & Regards
Dr. N Subramonia Iyer, UNICEF, Chennai
This mail is to thank you all for sharing your views and about your work in the area of community health planning and monitoring. Your responses have helped me in quickly taking forward my work which involves short listing examples/models in the area of community health planning and monitoring, conducting evidence review (ER) using E3 framework (effectiveness, efficiency and expandability), forming expert group and facilitating ER through them, designing district level Demonstration & Learning projects (if needed), Advocacy and Capacity building (if needed). All this is being done under newly launched USAID supported the Vistaar project for state Govts of UP, Jharkhand and National level NRHM.
Through your responses I am getting to know about organizations and individuals who have worked in this area and are enthusiastic to share their wisdom and learning. This is helping me in forming my expert groups for Evidence Review process and in short listing examples/models for further information.
As I progress in my work, soon I will contact some of you personally to discuss more about example/models shared by you. Thanks and regards……vibha
