Dear Friends,
Congratulations! We are now a 2000 plus community. We welcome all the newcomers and thank all the old timers for extending their support. We now need to focus on involving a critical mix of people from the national programmes in various regions. A recent meeting of the MCH Community Facilitators (UNICEF, UNFPA & WHO) suggested inviting members from the State and District Level staffs of National Rural Health Mission and RCH, and offering them a cross dimensional platform for discussion. This will not only make our forum more practical but will also give them a chance to access the huge knowledge pool we have here. Your ideas, actions are welcome!!
We wish to thank you for your contributions to the e-Discussion on Promoting Emergency Contraceptive Pills. We now look forward to the second discussion on Safe Abortion Practices. This month we will also look at queries on (mis)use of Oxytocin Injections in Pregnancy, Using Zinc in Diarrhoea Management and Converging SRH & HIV services in the country.
Gearing up for the winter and the New Year…. Please send in your comments, queries, suggestions, good wishes for entire community which we will publish in our next New Year Update.
Best Wishes,
Meghendra Banerjee & Deeksha Sharma MCH Community Resource Team, Solution Exchange |

Dear All
Is there a compilation of different myths / misconceptions about breast feeding behaviors prevalent in different communities of India? Have the reasons behind these misconceptions been investigated or studied?
It should help the behavioral change campaigns on the subject and also assist in preparing area specific IEC material, communication and advocacy campaigns.
If any such study is available then please share it.
Thanks regards and best wishes

Pharmed trade news invites articles on role of pharmacists in MCH.

Hi friend,
In my experience, I think.......physical changes, i mean buildings etc alone cannot make a panchayat women and child friendly. It needs attitude change especially in the minds of male politians. They have to have some concern about the issues of women and children near by.
