The Microfinance community addresses challenges for providing the poor with financial services, enhancing investment in income generating and asset-building activities, and addressing risks.

What is the Solution Exchange for the Microfinance Community?

“The Microfinance Community works as a catalyst to reduce poverty through microfinance initiatives and innovations leading to enhance financial inclusion”.

Solution Exchange connects the professional and practitioners of microfinance Community helping them share and apply each other’s knowledge and experience to fast track financial inclusion through increased effectiveness. It brings changes in microfinance sector at three levels – Individual, Organizational and External Environment level.  

What are some of the issues covered by this Community? 

  1.    Creating an enabling policy and operational environment  for promoting  financial inclusion
  2.    Enhancing the ‘depth’ of microfinance by addressing disadvantaged groups and ‘breadth’ of microfinance in   terms   of reaching out to remote and disadvantaged areas.
  3.   Microfinance for specific sub-sectors, cluster, for sustainable Livelihoods
  4.   Strengthening range of microfinance products and services  
  5.    Promoting  Innovative products and diversification of Financial Services  
  6.    Identification, propagation and use of innovative MF delivery mechanisms
  7.    Facilitating in development of Organizational structures  
  8.   Focusing  on grassroots level microfinance operation issues
  9.   Promoting new technologies, systems and tools for financial inclusion, management of MF projects

 Who are the stakeholders of this Community? 

The Community is guided by "Resource Group" of individuals representing key organizations and agencies working in the field of microfinance: 

  1.    Government of India and Regulatory bodies 
  2.     Commercial, Public, Private and Cooperative Banks
  3.    Microfinance Institutions including NBFCs, NGO-MFIs, Cooperatives and Civil Society Institutions
  4.   Research, Training and Academic Institutions
  5.   Resource Organizations, Networks and Rating Agencies  
  6. Independent Experts
  7.  UN Agencies, Donors and International Organizations (Multilateral and Bilateral Agencies)

 The Community is facilitated by UNDP.
